Description

Festival of Isis. Æ (17mm, 1.93 g, 5h). Mid-late 4th century AD. Rome mint. DEO SE-RAPIDI, radiate and draped bearded bust of Serapis right, wearing modius / VOTA P-VBLICA, Isis, holding sistrum in right hand, driving tensa drawn by two mules left. Bricault & Mondello 163, S46.5 = Tesorillo 18/1, 489 (this token); Alföldi, Festival 209 pl. V, 40 (same dies); Alföldi, Festival 207, pl. V, 39 (same dies, struck before obv. die re-engraved to turn Hermanubis into Serapis); Vagi 3371. Extremely rare.
