Description

Festival of Isis. Mid-late 4th century AD. Æ (12mm, 1.13 g, 12h). Rome mint. DEO SA-RAPIDI, radiate and draped bearded bust of Serapis right, wearing modius / VOTA PVBLICA, Nilus reclining left, holding ship in right hand, reed in left, and leaning with his left arm on overturned urn, from which water flows. Bricault & Mondello 168, S117.4 = Tesorillo 31/4, 226 corr. (obv. legend—this token) and Bricault & Mondello 168, S117.1 = Tesorillo 31/5, 241 (same dies); Alföldi, Festival 194 var. (obv. legend); Vagi 3373. Very rare.
